Google Now
In this Android version, it is included the Google Now service in the home screen. You just have to swipe from left to right and then the Google Now feature will appear.
OK Google!
This feature used to searching via Google Now. Just say "OK Google" and then you say the keyword to search. You can ask about the weather, direction to a place, and many others, even in Google Now you can make a call or SMS. For now, the language supported by this service is only in English (USA) but the other languages will be available later. To set the language, you have to go to "SETTINGS" -> "LANGUAGES AND INPUT" -> and then set the language you want.
Hangouts Application, a place to send and receive SMS and MMS
In Android Kitkat, you will not find the SMS/MMS client application, in this version Google has integrated the Hangouts with SMS and MMS application as a default.
Add the Home screen
For default, the home screen on Android Kitkat has 3 panels, but you can add more home screen panel by dragging the icon from the home screen to the right and hold until the panel changed. When it came to the last panel, then it will create a new home screen panel.
Setting the home screen position
In the empty screen, tap and hold to set the home screen position.
Immersive mode
Sometimes we need our Android cell phone screen clear from the notification display. As we know, Android provide a soft key (button) and status bar like battery etc that appear in the screen. In Android Kitkat, we can use the immersive mode to hide that status bar, especially when we want to watch the video, picture, etc.
Wireless printing
Now, many printer producer like HP made a printer that support for wireless printing. In Android Kitkat, Google provide a feature to support it, using an application that can be downloaded in Play Store. To set it, just go to "SETTINGS" -> "PRINTING" -> "SET CONFIGURATION".
Quick Office with Google Drive
You can create, read, or edit your office document using quick office application and save it in Google Drive.
Full Album Art
Lock screen image has been updated in Android Kitkat, now it can displaying an album art from music or videos in full screen mode. Run the multimedia application you want, press the lock button, and then press the lock button once more and you will see the album art in full screen mode.
Battery saver in GPS mode
There are many software or application that ask permission to track the user's location, of course it can result the battery working harder and drop faster. In Android Kitkat, there is an application to save your battery when you use GPS mode on, just go to "SETTINGS" -> "MODE" -> "ENABLE BATTERY SETTINGS".
Playing the Android Kitkat Animation
It is just for fun, you can play the Android Kitkat animation by going to "SETTINGS" -> "ABOUT PHONE". Then in Android Version tab, tap 3 times and then the animation will appear.
