According to the information that we received, the Samsung Galaxy S III uses Wolfson Microelectronics’ WM1811 Audio Hub. This chip device convert digital sound into analog, this process resulting the crystal clear HD sound during calls or during audio playback. This information was confirmed by Wolfson itself on the company’s website.
The cooperation between Samsung and Wolfson tied not only to the Galaxy S III alone product, but the previous products like the Wave also uses a chip from Wolfson and able to produce good performance. In comparison the Galaxy S II used a Yamaha digital-to-analog converter (DAC). The WM1811 features a 24-bit dual-channel hi-fi DAC, active noise reduction circuits, etc.
